History of the brewery

When we started a closed beer-tasting club at the end of 2000, no one would have dared to dream that 15 years later we would have a super brewery. The beer-tasting club was then still called “The Order of the Drunken Sparrow” with a logo of two sparrows with a beer in their Nest.
During tasting interest grew in everything to do with beer. We also sometimes sampled somewhat less tasty beers, and after a short while a ‘maybe we can do better ourselves’- feeling originated.

Our own brewery

We decided to build our own brewery to meet the increasing demand for our beers both at home and abroad. In the spring there was a lot of hard work on getting the brewery operational by the summer of 2015. At the end of July were we enormously proud to be able to brew the first beer in our own brew kettles. Besides an ultramodern brewing installation of 30 hl, fermentation and brewing tanks good for 60 hl and 120 hl and our own bottling line, we have a cellar for cask-matured beers.

A word from the brewers

We set up our own beer-tasting club more than 10 years ago. We tasted beer, and talked about football and women. Our interest in beer in general soon grew, and brewing in particular. This led to a brewing course, and our first home-brewed beer soon followed: a delicious triple beer. A professional jury agreed with us, and honoured us with a third place at the Dutch Open Championship for Hobby Brewers. From then on, beers were regularly brewed by trial and error. Some were good, and others were only good for the sink. But the quality was clearly getting better and better. Today we are proud to be able to present our range of beers to you.
